
3 TIMERS ISBAD WORKSHOP

Kom og oplev hvordan isbad, åndedrætstræning og meditation giver fornyet energi og overskud. Vi kombinerer de tre fantastiske ting, når vi endnu engang inviterer Mike Nevitt forbi Sofiebadet til vores populære isbad workshop.
Måske det er i år, du skal igang med vinterbadningen? Eller også er du allerede rutineret vinterbader. Det er underordnet da alle vil få noget ud af denne 3 timers workshop. Du bliver guidet igennem en række øvelser, designet til at stimulere dit hormonsystem, øge blodcirkulationen omkring dine organer samt forøge dit psykiske velbefindende. Ved hjælp af både åndedrætsøvelser, det kolde vand og varmen fra sauna og dampbad.

Mike siger om isbade: "Yes, it is a challenge but within seconds your body adapts and when you exit the water you will experience a new state of awareness, clarity and calm accompanied by a profound sense of achievement!
Apart from the feel-good factor, why else would you want to immerse your body in ice cold water? Because immersion in cold water increases blood flow to vital organs, it tones and improves the skin, it reduces inflammation, it causes the release of endorphines (the feel-good hormone) and other hormones in the brain, and stimulates the vagus nerve (the largest cranial nerve in the body)
Cold water immersion also stimulates and activates the immune system.

At this event you will be with others experiencing all the elements of ice bath immersion. There will be apprehension followed by elation and everyone is in it together so there is always a profound sense of connection and camaraderie involved. As well as all the mental and physical benefits attached to ice water bathing it is also GREAT FUN!”

Ice-bath immersion. Participants enter the ice-bath as a group and use the yogic breathing techniques learned in the introductory module to maintain focus and stability in the ice water. Those new to ice-water immersion will stay in the water between 1 and 2 minutes maximum and then retire to the sauna or dampbad. Those with more experience can stay in the ice for up to 5 or 8 minutes. After this initial group immersion there will be a 'freewheel' space in which participants can alternate at will between further ice-bath immersions and the sauna/dampbad.

The group meet in the warm acoustic Hammam room for a period of 'nada yoga' Nada yoga is the yoga of sound, or frequency and in this session participant will be guided through sequences of 'humming' and OM mantra practices.

The final module of the workshop will be gentle hatha/yin yoga with a focus on tension release from shouders, neck and back. We will finish with a guided relaxation.

The workshop is suitable for everyone with a reasonable level of health and fitness and no experience in either yoga or ice bathing is necessary. However if you have a known heart condition it is advisable that you consult your doctor before signing up to the workshop.
The workshop will finish at 19:45 and all participants must be exited from the Sofiebadet location by 20.

Obs! Undervisningen foregår på engelsk. Der vil være fuld guidning under hele workshoppen så alle er trygge ved at deltage, men deltagere skal være sunde og raske, og hvis du har hjerteproblemer skal du kontakte din læge inden du melder dig til.
